Astra Tours was born from a simple conviction: that the journey between destinations should be as remarkable as the destinations themselves.
Our name comes from the Latin for star — and like the constellations that have guided travellers for millennia, we navigate our guests through Australia’s most extraordinary landscapes, cultures, and flavours. Every tour is a constellation of carefully connected moments: a smoking ceremony in an ancient eucalyptus forest, a winemaker pouring their obsession into your glass, a harbour ferry crossing as the afternoon light turns gold.
We don’t operate coaches. We don’t follow the tourist trail. And we never, ever rush.

Fifteen years in Australian luxury tourism taught me one thing: most visitors leave this country having experienced only the surface. The postcard lookouts. The coach-tour lunches. The rushed itineraries that tick boxes but miss the soul.
I didn’t accept that.
I spent fifteen years studying what luxury actually means — not the thread count of a hotel sheet or the star rating of a restaurant, but the feeling. The feeling of being in the right place at the right time with someone who understands why that moment matters. The feeling of a winemaker pouring you something they’ve never released to the public. The feeling of standing at the Twelve Apostles in golden hour silence because your host knew exactly when to arrive.
Luxury tourism isn’t about spending more. It’s about experiencing more — more deeply, more personally, more memorably. It’s the Aboriginal elder who shares sixty thousand years of wisdom in a private smoking ceremony. It’s the chef who comes to your table because your host called ahead and told them you’d appreciate the story behind the dish. It’s the Mercedes V-Class that arrives ten minutes early because your host was already thinking about your day before you woke up.
I founded Astra Tours because I believed Australia deserved a touring company that understood this. Not a transport company with a tourism licence. Not a booking platform with a fleet. A genuine luxury experience company — built from the ground up around one question: will this moment stay with our guests for the rest of their lives?
If the answer isn’t yes, we don’t offer it.
Our vision is bold. We’re launching in Sydney and Melbourne — Australia’s two greatest cities, each with a personality as distinct as the experiences we’ve built around them. Brisbane is next. Then New Zealand. Astra Tours will change how luxury touring is perceived in the Australian and Pacific market — not by competing with what exists, but by creating something that doesn’t exist yet.

Where We're Going

Brisbane is next. The Gold Coast hinterland. The Sunshine Coast. Tropical Queensland offers a landscape and culture entirely different from the south — and it deserves the Astra treatment.
Then New Zealand. The South Island. Queenstown. Central Otago wine country. Milford Sound without the cruise ship crowds.
Astra Tours will change how luxury touring is perceived across the Pacific. Not by doing what others do with a higher price tag — but by creating experiences that simply don’t exist anywhere else.
